Lewis has become a multi-platinum selling artist and three time Grammy Award nominee. She has released two albums to date, Spirit and Echo, in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Spirit became the fastest-selling debut album and the biggest seller of 2007 in both the UK and Ireland, and made Lewis the first British solo artist to top the Billboard 200 with a debut album. Her second album, Echo, was released in November 2009.

Lewis’s debut single “A Moment Like This” became the fastest selling UK single after being downloaded over 50,000 times within thirty minutes of its release. Her second single, “Bleeding Love”, reached number one positions in over thirty singles charts around the world. In November 2008 she set a record in the UK for the fastest selling download-only release with her cover version of the Snow Patrol song “Run” which sold 69,244 copies in two days. In November 2009, the first set of dates for her 2010 debut world tour were announced.

She released her first single “There You Go” and first album, the R&B-oriented Can’t Take Me Home, in 2000 via LaFace Records, which garnered commercial success. Her more pop rock-oriented second studio album, Missundaztood, which began a marked shift in the sound of her music, was released in 2001, and was very successful worldwide, and is, currently, her best seller.

Pink released her third album, Try This, in November 2003, and her fourth in April 2006, I’m Not Dead. The latter generated seven hit singles, including “Stupid Girls”, “U + Ur Hand” and “Who Knew”. Her fifth album, Funhouse, was released in late October 2008 and was preceded by her first solo number one on the Hot 100, “So What”. The album hosts Top 20 hits “Sober” and “Please Don’t Leave Me”, and is Pink’s first album to spawn five worldwide singles. Pink revealed that she is in no hurry to record a sixth album because she “has nothing to say.”

She has sold more than 10 million albums in the US and over 32 million records worldwide, and scored eight Top 10 US hits, won two Grammy Awards and became one of the best known female pop rock acts of the decade.

Stefani recorded her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in 2004. The album was primarily inspired by music of the 1980s, and emerged an success with sales of seven million. The album’s third single “Hollaback Girl” was the first U.S. digital download to sell one million copies. Stefani’s second solo album The Sweet Escape (2006) yielded “Wind It Up”, a moderate success, and “The Sweet Escape”. Including her work with No Doubt, Stefani has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. She won the World’s Best-Selling New Female Artist at the World Music Awards 2005.

In 2003, she debuted her clothing line L.A.M.B. and expanded her collection with the 2005 Harajuku Lovers line, drawing inspiration from Japanese culture and fashion. Stefani performs and makes public appearances with four back-up dancers known as the Harajuku Girls dancers. She married British grunge musician Gavin Rossdale in 2002 and they have two sons: Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, who was born May 26, 2006, and Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, who was born August 20, 2008.

In 2006, she released her debut single “Tim McGraw”, then her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified Platinum several times by the Recording Industry Association of America.
In November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless. Fearless and Taylor Swift finished 2008 at number three and number six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million. Fearless has topped the Billboard 200 in 11 non-consecutive weeks, no album has spent more time at No. 1 since 2000. Forbes, ranked Swift 2009’s 69th-most powerful celebrity, earning $18 million.

Hilton is best known for her appearance on the television series The Simple Life, her several minor film roles (most notably her role in the horror film House of Wax in 2005), her 2004 tongue-in-cheek autobiography, her 2006 music album Paris, and her work in modeling. As a result of several legal incidents, Hilton also served a widely publicized sentence in a Los Angeles County jail in 2007. She is also known for her controversial appearance in a sex tape in 2003.

Lavigne broke into the recording industry with her debut album, Let Go, released in 2002. As of 2009, over 16 million copies were sold worldwide, more than 6 million of which were sold in the United States. Her second and third albums, Under My Skin and The Best Damn Thing, reached number one on the Global charts. Lavigne has scored five number-one singles worldwide, including “Complicated”, “Sk8er Boi”, “I’m With You”, “My Happy Ending” and “Girlfriend”. She is currently working on her fourth studio album, due out in early 2010.
